Cathy Hontz

Cathy worked on-site for 5 years at properties in Myrtle Beach, Raleigh, and finally Charleston. There, she joined The Beach Company, where she won Leasing Consultant of the Year (2002) from the Charleston Apartment Association. In 2003, she transitioned to an Account Executive/Publisher/Market Manager/Senior Sales Executive roles with Rent., where she has thrived through the company’s many transformations. She is now Director of Marketing and Business Development for Primus Multifamily in Charleston.

A dedicated industry leader, Cathy has served multiple terms on the Charleston, Coastal Georgia and Myrtle Beach Apartment Association Boards. She's earned numerous accolades including CAA Member of the Year (2003 & 2004), CRBJ's 40 Under Forty (2009), the CAA Prestigious Pineapple (2015), and CAA Vendor of the Year (2016), GCAA Supplier of the Year 2023, Entryway's Volunteer of the Year Award 2023, and MBAA Outstanding Committee Chair 2023.


Cathy has always had a passion for education, and has taught classes for Apartment Associations across the southeast for 22 years. Her energetic vibes leave her audience pumped up and ready to deliver!
