Pups + Purpose: Making a Difference, One Community at a Time! 🐾

What started as a fun way to bring residents together has turned into something much bigger!

Through MBAA's Pups + Purpose initiative, apartment communities across the Grand Strand are coming together to support local organizations, help animals in need, and make a meaningful difference in our community.

In partnership with Helping Hands of Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand Humane Society, Pups + Purpose combines resident engagement, donation drives, and pet adoption opportunities into one impactful event.

And the results speak for themselves!

Paws-itively Amazing Results! 🐾

With seven events completed and one more scheduled before the end of 2026, Pups + Purpose has already made an incredible impact:

• 🐾 800 pounds of pet food and supplies collected, including toys, bowls, beds, and other essentials.

• 🥫 100 pounds of food donated to help individuals and families in need.

• ❤️ 6 pet adoptions or fosters, helping animals find loving homes.

• 🙌 84 volunteer hours contributed by dedicated industry professionals and community teams.

Beyond the numbers, these events have created opportunities for residents to connect with their neighbors, meet adoptable pets, and give back to the community in a fun and meaningful way.

More Than Just a Resident Event

One of the best things about Pups + Purpose is how easy it is for apartment communities to participate.

MBAA and its partners help coordinate the event, while participating properties provide the space and invite their residents to join in.

The response from participating communities has been overwhelmingly positive, demonstrating that resident events can do more than bring people together. They can make a real difference beyond the apartment community.

There's Still More to Come!

With one more event scheduled for 2026, we're excited to see the impact of Pups + Purpose continue to grow!

A huge thank you to the participating apartment communities, management teams, residents, volunteers, and community partners who have helped make this initiative a success.
